About Honor Flight of Northern New Mexico
Mission Statement
Honor Flight of Northern New Mexico’s mission is to celebrate America's Veterans by inviting them to share in a day of honor at our nation's memorials.
Vision Statement
Honor Flight of Northern New Mexico’s vision is a nation where all of America's Veterans experience the honor, gratitude, and community of support they deserve.
Honor Flight of Northern New Mexico (HFNNM), established in 2013, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit hub of the national Honor Flight Network. Our mission is to honor New Mexico Veterans for their service and sacrifices by providing them with a free "trip of a lifetime" to Washington, D.C.
The Mission and Priority
The core goal of this organization is to offer honor and closure as Veterans visit and reflect at their national memorials.
A Completely Free Experience
The trip to our nation's capital is provided completely free of charge to the Veteran and covers all major expenses, including:
During the trip, Veterans visit key sites such as the World War II Memorial, the Korean War Memorial, the Vietnam War Memorial, and the Lincoln Memorial. The journey also includes the moving Changing of the Guard ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery, with additional stops scheduled as time allows.
Guardians: Ensuring Comfort and Care
Each Veteran is paired with a Guardian who ensures all their needs are met throughout the trip. Guardians may be family members, friends, or dedicated volunteers.
Support Our Heroes
Honor Flight of Northern New Mexico raises funds for these essential trips through private donations and annual events, including a car show and a golf tournament.
"We can't all be heroes. Some of us have to stand on the curb and clap as they go by."
